Understanding Your NBN AVC ID
What it is, Why it Matters, and Where to Find It
What is an AVC ID?
Your AVC ID stands for Access Virtual Circuit Identifier. It’s a unique 15-character code (e.g. AVC123456789012) that represents your specific NBN connection at your home or business.
Think of it like a “serial number” for your NBN line — it helps internet providers like us identify exactly which connection you're using at your address.
Why is the AVC ID Important?
Your AVC ID is essential when:
- Protecting your service from being accidentally transferred by mistake
- Switching NBN providers (so we can transfer the correct service)
- Avoiding delays or errors during the transfer process
- Reversing a mistaken transfer (if one occurs)
Without the correct AVC ID, there’s a risk that the wrong NBN service may be moved — especially in buildings with multiple active services.
